In 1901 powered vacuum cleaners using suction were invented independently by British engineer Hubert Cecil Booth and American inventor David T. Kenney. They invented the first successful vacuum cleaner called 'Puffing Billy', had a 5 hp piston pump driven by a petrol/gasoline engine or electric motor.
In 1908 a janitor from Ohio James Murray Spangler invented the first upright vacuum as he suffered from asthma and needed a device to ease it. Spangler sold his idea to William Hoover in 1908 and the rest is history!

How to Mop a Floor Correctly
Quick, Easy Steps to a Clean Floor!
Sweep or vacuum the floor before you begin cleaning (It is important - mops don't lift debris!
Pour in JDS Services Cleaner
into the mop bucket and fill up with warm water (so that the entire mop head is covered but ensure to keep the wringer out of the water). Don't over pour cleaning fluid into the mop bucket, it will only leave a residue on the floor. Dip the mop into the mop bucket to absorb the cleaning fluid. Wring all the excess water out of the mop in the wringer attached to the mop bucket. The mop should be DAMP not SOGGY.Start in the corner of the room and work your way around patch by patch continuously washing and wringing out the mop when it appears dirty.
For hardwood floors, run the mop along the grain of the wood. If mopping a textured floor, use a figure of eight method of cleaning with the mop.
Continue mopping towards the exit of the room, to ensure you do not walk on the mopped area. Ensure the mopped area has dried thoroughly before walking into the room. Ensure you leave your mop out to dry after rinsing and cleaning it thoroughly. Dispose of dirty cleaning water down the toilet and not the sink!
